Students for a Free Economy is “tasked with taking the ideas that Mackinac Center scholars have promoted…and finding ways to propagate them” on Great Lake State campuses. According to the article “Free-Market Fundamentals for a New Generation” (Impact, Fall 2007), “SFE is pursuing creative ways to engage students through contests, a blog site [http://michigansfe.org], barbeques and even free-market tailgate parties.” Of course there's a serious side to it all. But, for the moment, it’s enough to say: Free minds, free markets… and fun? That’s a program worthy of support – and replication.
