Amen. The effective overhead of a single payer plan like in Canada is probably over 40% when all its costs are take into account. But here is the single payer trick. Most of those costs, like excess tax burden, are implicit. This allows vote maximizing politicians to trump this nonsense because taxpayers can't directly see the expenses.
