Lawmakers looking to allow consumers to purchase health insurance across state lines might also want to consider ALEC's model legislation, the Health Care Choice Act for States, available at www.alec.org.

Allowing health care consumers to buy care across state lines would indeed make sense, but common sense is singularly absent in our health care debate.

Also, Arizonans looking for inexpensive insurance policies will certainly not be heading to New Mexico with our 49 mandates (four new ones were adopted in 2007).
