Great Moments in Public Education

The Denver Post reports that half of all incoming students at Metropolitan State University would not meet entrance requirements set to be imposed in the fall of 2008.

So what did lawmakers do? Embark on a crash course to reform education at the K-12 level?

Actually, they decided to delay the implementation of the new requirements. As a bumper sticker that I once saw put it, "When all else fails, lower your expectations."
