Every so often I run across articles lamenting a shortage of general practitioners or family physicians. Sometimes the articles will muse about the need for another government program.
Or maybe we need fewer programs and less third-party payment and management of our health care.
I'm reminded of this as I read the story of Diana Nguyen. Dr. Nguyen started out as a family physician, but soon turned from injecting vaccines to injecting botox.
One reason: she didn't want to keep up with the pace demanded by HMOs, whose dominance was set into motion by politicians.
