Like Christie, I love websites where I can compare doctors. (Insurers are also planning to rank doctors, as I blogged here on 8/17/2007.) The idea of doctors shutting down these services is appalling.

I doubt these "gag sheets" will be effective, because one can always blog anonymously, anyway.

On the other hand, we need a level playing field. Laws and medical ethics prevent doctors from ranking patients on-line, so I wonder how physicians can defend against malicious rankings?
