Stossel Shrugged

I agree with Stossel, to a point. There is still the issue of designing a program, forcing contribution to it, and promising it to be a certain way and then changing the rules.

If the government were to allow opting out of Medicare now for people, say under 50, then at that point changing the way it works and rationing the care differently would make more sense.

Don't get me wrong--I think Stossel's point is right on, but I tire quickly of the government designing a game and then turning it into Calvinball.
