Other nations have found to their financial detriment, and to the unnecessary suffering and death of millions of their subjects, that government run health care is expensive, inefficient, and illogical.

Our friends in Canada, Britain, and throughout Europe encourage and beg us not to go down the road to the horrors of Socialist medicine. All of these countries are moving away from Socialized medicine and returning health care spending to traditional market forces.

Why then is President Obama leading the Progressive charge to fully place our health care in the hands of politicians and bureaucrats? The answer is simple. Barack Obama is seeking power and control over as much of our economy as possible and over the lives of his subjects.

Government run health care does one thing that is attractive to politicians -- it puts the lives of everyone under the control of the politicians. They who run the government control the life, health, and death of their subjects. Politicians can buy votes at every election. Politicians can promise the people some additional health care benefit or convince the people that their political opponent will cut their health care benefits.

There are two big dangers with the Left controlling health care. The obvious, which will kill the most people, is rationing health care and decreasing its quality. Money is increasingly spent on bureaucrats. The bureaucrats ration health care and divert the money to themselves.

The second deadly power gained with government health care is the ability to limit or deny care to political enemies. Those in power have the ability to put their enemies in “mental” or “rehabilitation” hospitals just as was done in the Soviet Union. We hope such things would not happen in the United States.

When the government of a nation is in rapid ethical decline, the dangers the people face are far greater and more sinister than most would ever imagine. Such is the status of any nation that seeks ultimate control over the lives of subjects.
