Shameless Plug for Cato University

Institute hosts liberty seminar July 22-27

Filed As:  Events

Have fun, make friends and be a smarter revolutionary for liberty: This summer attend the Cato Institute's 2007 Cato University, a week-long, intellectually energizing seminar in San Diego. As a college student many moons ago, I was fortunate enough to attend a similar program at Dartmouth College. The mix of participants, from 18 to 80, from around the world, made for an incredible experience. Imagine learning, as we did, from an Argentine participant what it was like in his country during The Great Depression.

All thinking and no fun makes for dull activists. I had the opportunity to play on Cato president Ed Crane’s winning softball team. Still waiting for the promised “Camp Cato” baseball cap, Ed.

As an added bonus, I made a great friend at that seminar. We drank Bailey's in kayaks. To this day I am in regular contact with that Scottish lad, even attended his wedding in Lima and the follow-up celebration in Glasgow. Priceless.

As for priceless: This year’s Cato University is only $925 and will be held at Rancho Bernardo Inn, a few miles north of San Diego. For the speaker line-up, other details and to register, visit www.cato.org/cato-university. Be a part of the Second American Revolution, attend Cato’s July 22-27 “Graduate School of Liberty.”
