The Best Transit System You've Never Seen?

Bill, thanks for writing in. I certainly hope that PRTs can be privately funded.
Please visit JPods.com for details on the PRT system we have been working on. We will be building within the year.

You are right that the automobile is a PRT concept. The car is the right answer, it is just the wrong size and mass for congested, highly repetitive travel.

In highly repetitive travel, we need the value provided by cars without using energy and creating congestion moving a ton to move a person. JPods strive towards moving only the person; drive Parasitic Mass towards zero.

Based on riders per day, the most successful form of public transit is the elevator. PRT is a network of horizontal elevators.

PRT is on-demand, personal mobility, regardless of age, ability or wealth.

We believe most of our JPods networks will be privately funded. They can be built, operated and maintained at a savings of 27 cents and 1.7 pounds of Carbon Credits per passenger mile. They can be applied to about 5 billion of the 8 billion miles Americans drive daily.
