How Government Health Care Saves Money

Filed As:  Health Care

Welcome to the latest cost saving tip from a government controlled hospital: reuse sheets.

Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, England, is a National Health Service Hospital. It is having money problems. On April 13 the online Daily Mail reported that in order to save money, “Housekeeping staff at Good Hope Hospital…have been asked to re-use sheets and pillowcases wherever possible to cut a ₤500,000 laundry bill.”

So, now there is evidence that U.S. patients get at least two things for the extra money that the U.S. spends on health care: clean sheets and lower infection rates.
