Expect government officials and "health care advocates" to make more moves to slap your hands at the dinner table. The group "Trust for America's Health" has released a report that ranks states on obesity, and newspapers, ever alert to bad news, are giving the report publicity.
Obesity is bad. I get it. But it's becoming the rationale for all sorts of busybody legislation ranging from new regulations on menus, banning the establishments of disfavored restaurants, "livable communities" initiatives and on and on. If my health is the government's business, then there's nothing in my life that isn't.
