Richard Epstein and David Hyman address the futility of regulatory efforts by governments to control health costs. After analyzing the deficiencies in expansion of government control over the health sector, they conclude that no administrative agency or committee of experts, no matter how well-intentioned and knowledgeable, will be able to do a better job of meeting consumer demands than the private market.
