Saving Tax Money Through Education Tax Credits

Do tax credits for educational expenses deplete the public treasury? Hardly, says Adam Schaeffer. The Cato Institute scholar says that both New York and Texas could save $15 billion a year through education tax credits.

Why? I suspect that it's because private schools, contrary to public mythology, are cheaper to run, not more expensive, than today's public schools.
