A Passing of the Guard in Michigan

By John LaPlante

Filed As:  General

The movement of state-based think tanks is relatively young; some groups are still led by their founders. The Mackinac Center for Public Policy is undergoing a significant change as founding president Lawrence W. Reed has decided to step down from his position to assume the presidency of the Foundation for Economic Education.

Joseph G. Lehman will become the president of the Mackinac Center, where he currently serves as chief operating officer.

Congratulations! I've known both gentlemen for about a decade, and many of our readers have known them even longer. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do next. Both Michigan and the rest of the country could use some economic education and sound policies.
