The Fraser Institute has released the latest edition of its annual report on economic freedom in North America. It looks at economic freedom for each state in the U.S. as well as for the Canadian provinces.

It ranks each subnational unit of government by asking three questions:

• How large is the government?
• How fair is the government in its tax and regulatory policies?
• How free is the labor market?

For the first time, the publication has information about Mexico.
