Political debates can get overheated, certainly, but one member of the education cartel invoked fire and brimstone in a discussion of charter schools.
Ben DeGrow, of the Independence Institute, has the goods on how the chairman of the House Education Committee in the state legislature caused an uproar. While discussing a bill that would cripple charter schools in Colorado, he said that there "must be a special place in Hell" for those who advocate charter schools, vouchers, and presumably other measures of school choice.
As DeGrow observes, at the best, that comment suggests that families who choose charter schools, which make up 7 percent of the states' enrollment, 'have been seduced by a great evil."
