If Taxpayers Build a Theater and Nobody Books It ....

Charles J. Sykes writes about an edifice complex that has built an expensive--and largely unused--theater in Milwaukee.

"From the beginning, critics sniped that spending $42 million in taxpayer dollars for the 'Milwaukee Theater' would be a colossal waste of money. ... They had no idea."

From May 1 through the end of the year, the theater has five-5-nights of commercial entertainment booked.

Do I need to point out that the theater is controlled not by a private firm with skin in the game, but by an unelected board of managers who are appointed by the mayor, the governor, and other politicians?
