Need some cheering up on this tax day? Consider the April newsletter from the REACH Foundation of Pennsylvania. REACH is an advocate of the state's ETIC, or Educational Improvement Tax Credit, which gives businesses tax credits for donations to scholarship-granting organizations. This year up to 40,000 children can have school choice thanks to the ETIC.

The April newsletter has a short interview with Joseph T. Svetik, CEO of First Star Bank, a company that has been with ETIC since 2001. Among other things, he said: "It is very rare in our system that you have the opportunity to direct taxes toward a situation that you really have confidence in and where it's truly the right place for those tax dollars to go."
