The Tax Foundation released their annual report on Tax Freedom Day today. The national Tax Freedom day will be April 23 - the number of days it takes for Americans to pay all their federal, state, and local taxes for the year.
The Tax Foundation also provides Tax Freedom Day for each state, ranging from Connecticut (May 8) to Alaska (March 29). Also of interest is the charts comparing taxes to other expenses - Americans spend almost twice as much on taxes as they doing on housing, and more than twice what they don on Health Care.
