Land Use Planning… and Climate Change Conference

Paul Chesser of Climate Strategies Watch wrote an aptly titled blog, "Transportation and Electricity Have All the Fun." Chesser highlights the May 5-6, 2008 "comprehensive conference" on "Climate Change and Land Use." The blog is aptly titled because, as he notes, land use planning people heretofore have not attached their wagons as profitably, in a broad sense, to climate warming "mytheria" as transportation and energy folk. However, with this conference, the planners are getting in the game.

Somehow I doubt this Tarrytown, New York conference will overshadow the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair in Bethel, New York. But, the ripple effect caused by Conference attendees, who learn, for example, about "Policy initiatives in other leading states and sources of regulatory authority," just might be worse than the cultural aftershock caused by Woodstock.
