Did 60 Minutes get it right?
"I am sad that we are the wealthiest nation in the world, and we don't take care of our own."
Good eye. This testimonial is obviously referring to socialized health care as opposed to, say, private philanthropy b/c the very care that helped her was the latter. Yet, still she laments.
Why people think that a state of affairs where Americans are forcibly taxed would be preferable to one where individuals voluntarily donate (in sizable sums) to non-profits like the one featured is bewildering.

Excellent point and well written.
This makes me wonder, how many people out there are just like you? And, should our country moved toward socialized medicine, what will happen to all the people like you?
Like everyone else, I hope that we can find a way to make sure all people have the ability to live happy healthy lives. Of course, the devil is in the details.
