If you read anything about the air travel, you may have heard of SkyBus, which is at least practices truth-in-advertising: cheap fares in exchange for being treated like a bus passenger.
But David Hansen, president of the Buckeye Institute for Public Policy Solutions, pointed me to the dirty little secret behind the company's cheap fares: state and local subsidies.
Great. Ohio's economy is probably the second-worst in the country, and its residents are handing over their hard-earned dollars so that government can subsidize air travel for some people.

The subsidized airline has now driven a couple carriers out of the Port Columbus airport, says Hansen.
