College students interested in liberty, peace and choice should definitely review the summer offerings from the Institute for Humane Studies. As IHS states, its seminars are ideal if you are interested in politics; seek a better understanding of issues such as environmental concerns, globalization, or personal liberties; want to become familiar with the foundations of individual rights; or love hearing the perspectives of students from around the country and the world. We also have seminars for aspiring filmmakers, writers, journalists, and academic professionals focusing on themes related to their careers.I've been to an IHS seminar, as well as helped organize several while working there. Both sides of the coin were fun, plus intellectually challenging (also challenging was the sleep deprivation, which IHS acknowledges in its seminar tag line, "Sleep Less. Think More.") If you're a college student, send in your application before March 31. If you know a student who'd enjoy such a program, pass this information along.
