The Baltimore Sun reports that the Maryland Citizens Health Initiative, a group that advocates for expanding government health care programs, has received a three-year, $250,000 a year grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The Foundation is giving this money as part of its Consumer Voices for Coverage campaign.
Consumer voices, huh? The government programs championed by the Maryland Citizens Health Initiative give their recipients few choices. The health care regulation supported by that group take away consumer choice. I find it hard to believe that the Maryland Citizens Health Initiative is speaking for consumers in Maryland.
