From time to time, this blog site announces educational opportunities that may be of interest to our readers. Here's another one: Acton University 2008. In the words of the Acton Institute, Acton U isn't a four-year experience, but "a unique, four-day exploration of the intellectual foundations of a free society. Guided by a distinguished, international faculty, Acton University is an opportunity to deepen your knowledge and integrate rigorous philosophy, Christian theology and sound economics."
The event will be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan, June 10-13. The cost of the event ranges from $0 to $775, depending on which option you select. (There is no fee for full-time students, who may even qualify for needs-based travel scholarships.)
Note that you don't have to be a student to attend, though. The list of those who can interested is very broad: "non-profit professionals, pastors, professors, business people, and anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the integration of sound economics, rigorous philosophy, and the Judeo-Christian faith."
Conference faculty include much of the Acton Institute staff, as well as independent scholar and economist Jennifer Roback Morse, Jeffrey Tucker of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, and Grace-Marie Turner, president of the Galen Institute, among others.
